The Department of Botany  was started in the year 1962  along with other science departments of the college.


To train the students in the direction of academic excellence & help them to grow into matured and responsible persons in the society by inculcating ethical values.


    Motivate  students towards skill based courses using their potentiality to their best and to develop recently realized skills through projects.

    To create environmental awareness to make them eco-friendly.

    To guide and encourage students to get good placements.

Association Activities

Organised a students seminar in collabaration with the department of Biotechnology in commemoration of SIR Gregor Johann Mendel(1822-1884)-Father of  Genetics on the topic “Mendelian  Revolution” on 22-7-2014.

Essay writing and Elocution competition were conducted.

13 students presented papers on Biographay of Mendel, DNATechnology, Transgenic Plants and Animals, Stem Cells, Cloning etc.
