Achievements

The Department has adopted certain healthy practices to make value addition for the curriculum. The innovative program are

“EARN WHILE YOU LEARN”- A unique program with the concept of Micro Finance.

In order to encourage   entrepreneurial abilities of the students at a micro level  the department has a tie up with Jana Sikshana  Samsthan .

Conducted 5 – day training program on Home scale method of Fruit and Vegetable Preservation and Nutrition by Ministry of HRD, “Food and Nutrition Board”, India.

The department has a fruitful and long standing consortium with forum of Free Enterprise and M.R. Pai foundation in conducting student centric activities like Leadership Training Camp, A.D Shroff Memorial Elocution and essay writingCompetition and essay writing competitions.

Every year the department organizes guest lectures that address curricular and contemporary economic issues.

The department has set up a cultural club in association with the History department to promote talents in students.

Staff and students are actively participated and presented papers in various International and National Seminars.

Organized a Leadership Training Camp for College Students in collaboration with M.R. Pai Foundation, Mumbai.

Jointly  with Forum of Free Enterprise, Mumbai,  conducted the 50th A.D. Shroff Memorial Elocution Competitions.                        

On November 25th , 2014 jointly with the Department of TTM, the Cultural Club hosted International Youth Fellowship  with the motto of Change, Challenge and Cohesion.

Activities of  Department of Economics  2015 – 2016

On July 6sth 2015 we have arranged a Guest Lecture for B.A students of economics on “Globalisation  - Impact on Indian Economy”. The  resource person is Dr. S.Subbalakshmi ,Senior Faculty , Sri Medha Institutions.

On Setember  22nd 2015 we have arranged a Guest Lecture for  B.A students of economics on “MAKE IN INDIA”. The  resource person is Dr.D. Paparao garu .

On 19th & 20th Au gust 2015 , with a view to educate the students in various dimensions the department has organized a ‘Leadership Training Camp for college students in collaboration with M.R. Pai foundation , Mumbai

 

On 29th September 2015 Jointly with Forum Of Free Enterprise, Mumbai , the Department of Economics has conducted The 51st  A.D. Shroff Memorial Elocution Competition.

 

On 9th December 2016 students of IIIBA visited KCP Cement .Macerla and Nagarjuna sagar dam. which was financially supported by UGC.
INPUT OF THE TOUR
   Industry visits sensitize students to the practical challenges that organizations face in the business world. Industrial visits also give greater clarity about various management concepts for students as they can practically see how these concepts are put into action.
       Visits to manufacturing firms are useful for students. to understand the nuances and realities of the shopfloor, which in itself is a rare exposure. By visiting the shop floor they get to understand the risky conditions in which workers work, the people management challenges involved in managing workers  apart from getting hands-on technical knowledge.
Industrial visit has its own importance in a career of a student who is pursuing a professional degree. It is considered as a part of college curriculum.
 Objectives of industrial visit
To provide students an insight regarding internal working of companies.
 Theoretical knowledge is not enough for making a good professional career.
With an aim to go beyond academics, industrial visit provides student a practical perspective on the world of work.
It provides students with an opportunity to learn practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices.
 It gives them exposure to current work practices as opposed to possibly theoretical knowledge being taught at college.
 Industrial visits provide an excellent opportunity to interact with industries and know more about industrial environment.
 Industrial visits are arranged by colleges to students with an objective of providing students functional opportunity in different sector.
 Industrial visit helps to combine theoretical knowledge with industrial knowledge.
Industrial realities are opened to the students through industrial visits.
KCP  AT MACHERLA AND NAGARJUNA SAGAR DAM
                 KCP’s Cement Business is over 60+ years with manufacturing plants in Macherla & Mukthyala in the state Andhra Pradesh with captive supply of high grade limestone and producing a combined annual capacity of 2.2 million tons of the finest quality premium grade cement in India.\

  • Proven record for over 60+ years as one of the India’s oldest producer of High Grade Cement.
  • Various Landmarks project in India like Nagarjuna Sagar Dam, Sri Sailam Dam and Prakasam Barrage, Godavari Railroad Bridge in Andhra Pradesh.
  • Manufactured by ISO 9000 quality certified plants to National & International Quality standards
  • Primarily used in building foundations structures like Columns, Beams, Slab and other concrete structures and hence popularly called Concrete Cement.

              KCP Cement is sold in India in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Orissa. We also export cement to Sri Lanka, Bangladesh & Myanmar. 
             A Greenfield plant setup in 2011 is one of India’s most modern, highly automated, cost efficient and Eco Friendly plant with an annual capacity 1.86 m tons expandable to 3 m tons.

 

The plant is also enhanced with Captive Power Generation of about 20 MW (Thermal & Solar).

   This plant   have been delivering high-quality cement to prestigious and large infrastructural projects including leading infrastructure developers, private companies and major cement manufacturers who source our products as they stands out in strength & efficiency.

The visit generally consists of lectures about the industry, the site being visited and a
range of topics specific to learning outcomes.
