Department of Biotechnology was founded in 2008. It is a department where education and research are intermixed paving the way towards scientific excellence. The produces excellent results ranging from 98% to 100%.
To initiate students into research
• Build and strengthen national capacity in biotechnology through research and development.
• Promote the utilization of biotechnology products and processes as tools for national development.
• Provide a regulatory and institutional framework for biotechnology development and applications.
• Provide for measures for biotechnology and biosafety monitoring and evaluation.

Organised an invited lecture on World Ozone Day on 16-9-2014.

Biotechnology exhibition 2015: Students prepared models on various advanced topics in biotechnology. Many children from different schools visited the exhibition.
