Maris Stella College has its excellently equipped library housed in a three storeyed building situated in the centre of the campus. It is adequately ventilated and furnished with a congenial academic ambience. It has been identified as the best library in the purview of Acharya Nagarjuna University in 2009. Books of UG and PG sections are arranged in two separate buildings. The PG library has been expanded into two more storeys in 2006.
The library has a collection of 90000 books, 60 journals both national and international and 84 periodicals and also CDs and DVD’s. Dewey decimal classification system is followed for the arrangement of books.
Well qualified and trained staff interested in the implementation of new technologies contributes to a professional functioning of the library.
A well furnished Research centre is started for literature and economics under the able guidance of senior staff and research scholars, both part time and full time have a ready access to it.
Goals
Provide direction and vision to the library and information resources and services through a continuous, collaborative planning and assessment process that addresses the college’s instructional and programmatic needs.
Maximize the utilization of resources and services available to the college community..
Build and maintain an organizational culture that fosters respect and collaboration, encourages innovation and intelligent risk-taking, and inspires and supports users in their efforts to continually develop their skills and deepen their knowledge and expertise.
Objectives
To encourage students to read beyond the requirements of the curriculum. To acquire the necessary skills and habits to continue their education even after graduation.
To work with faculty in integrating information skills, knowledge of information sources, and the use of technology in accessing information needed to strengthen their instruction, research and extension programs.
To ensure that faculty are able to make effective use of library resources, media and technology to achieve their teaching and research objectives.

ACTIVITIES
Automation: The entire library is fully automated. Barcode technology is implemented in circulation counter. The collection of books is computerized and this computerized catalogue is made available for staff and students (OPAC).
Open access: The open access system facilitates the quick better and efficient use of books by students.
Book Bank facility: Book bank facility is available for the economically backward students. They can borrow two extra books per one semester.
On-line Journals: Staff and Students can access to more than 6000+ e-journals and 97000 e- books under the N-list programme of INFLIBNET. A link is also provided below for free e-resources and e-journals.
Digitization: As part of digitization, all the old question papers of autonomy and also content pages of important journals (access in OPAC) have been digitized for easy retrieve of information for staff and students.
Information literacy programmes: Information literacy programmes are arranged with power point presentations for staff and students for the better usage of library services, new technologies like e-books, e-journals accessand online courses from SWAYAM, NEPTEL so on.
Internet access: Free internet access is available for staff and students with 35 systems both in UG and PG libraries.
CC Cameras: CC Cameras are arranged in the library for security purpose
