INFRASTRUCTURE

Indoor Stadium:
The 1500 capacity indoor stadium was constructed with financial assistance from the UGC. It was inaugurated in 2014 by Koneru Hampi, Grand Master and winner of the Arjuna Award for Chess. Constructed on the environment-friendly green building concept, it is designed to tap maximum natural light and to reduce heat. Motivated by a desire to offer increased opportunities to students with latent talent in sports and games, the stadium has facilities for basketball, volleyball, shuttle badminton and table tennis.

Auditorium: 
The auditorium which is located on the eastern side of the campus has a capacity of 800 and is used extensively for seminars, inter-collegiate events, cultural shows, staff and student orientation programmes and workshops.

Hostel:
The two hostels, built around a garden, have 149 rooms and accommodate 300 resident students. It has excellent facilities for the well-being and comfort of its residents and is in heavy demand.

Canteen:
The canteen, overlooking the sports grounds, is in the process of renovation. The management ensures that reasonably priced, fresh, wholesome food is available through the day to the campus community.

Bank:
A branch of Canara Bank is housed on the premises, providing customized banking services to the campus community.

DTP Centre:

The DTP Centre offers photocopying facilities and internet services.

Laboratories and Language Labs:

There are seven Computer labs and two Language labs in addition to well-equipped science labs for Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology, Food Science and Technology, Microbiology, Statistics and Electronics.

Audio-visual Room:

The air-conditioned audio-visual room with a seating capacity of 100 is used for meetings, guest lectures, video tutorials and presentations.

Sports Grounds:

The sports grounds stretch over five acres. There is a 400 metre running track and a basketball court. The entire grounds are being re-laid professionally. There is also a walkers’ track.

Gymnasium:

A mini Gymnasium with modern equipment is available for the fitness-conscious.

 Stage:

The stage overlooks the open quadrangle of the main block and is equipped with green rooms, a costume cupboard, make-up kits, curtains and props. It is used regularly for multiple events, including the morning assembly and College Day celebrations.

Solar panels:

Solar panels were installed on the roof of the main block in 2018 as an alternate source of clean energy. Since then, the energy generated has been meeting a considerable percentage of the power requirement of the institution.

Virtual/Digital Classrooms:


Maris Stella College has been granted a sum of Rs. 200 lakhs by the Government of India (MHRD) under RUSA 2.0for the construction of additional classrooms, upgradation / renovation & purchase of equipment. All beneficiary institutions are provided with 3 virtual classrooms, 1 digital-cum-virtual classroom, 1 digital lab and E-Campus management software. 

Virtual classroom equipment has been installed in three classrooms. One classroom has been made into a digital-cum- virtual classroom. RUSA digital lab equipped with 30 desktops, a laptop and a white board have been set up in the library block.

These facilities have enhanced the use of ICT in teaching-learning and assessment,  improved communication and collaboration,  honed technical skills, made  teaching-learning more interesting and closer to global practices.

Audio-Visual Room:

The well-equipped and spacious audio-visual room is used for multiple purposes: to hold ICT enabled classes, for various activities, meetings, guest lectures etc. It is also used as a smart classroom for presentation of papers during the technical sessions in national conferences and seminars organized by the institution.

E-Learning Centre:

The e-learning centre in the library block provides students with facilities to browse and learn. Twenty desktops are available for students to take online certificate courses, to visit various websites for their study projects, assignments and to conduct classes using their computer skills.

Skill Development Centre:
The Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) has established a training centre at Maris Stella College to inculcate employability-oriented and industry-aligned skills among the students. It is equipped with 30 laptops and two televisions to meet the requirements of different skill development programs and certificate courses offered by state government departments, corporations, societies and agencies by convergence and standardization.
